We present a new measurement of the inclusive and differential
production cross sections of J/psi mesons and b-hadrons in proton-antiproton
collisions. The cross sections are measured over all transverse momenta in
the rapidity range |y| < 0.6. The data correspond to an integrated
luminosity of 39.7 pb-1 collected by the CDF Run II detector in p anti-p
collisions at s**(1/2) = 1960 GeV. We find the total integrated cross section
for inclusive J/psi production to be sigma(p anti-p --> J/psi X, |y(J/psi)|<
0.6) = 4.08 +/- 0.02(stat) +/- 0.36(syst) mu b. We present a first
measurement of the b-hadron inclusive cross section using a sample of J/psi
candidates from the decay of long-lived b-hadrons. The differential cross
section is measured for J/psi transverse momenta > 1.25 GeV/c which probes
all b-hadron transverse momenta. The integrated cross section is
sigma(p anti-p --> bX, p(t)(J/psi) > 1.25 GeV/c, |y(J/psi)| < 0.6) = 28.4 +/-
0.4(stat)+4.0_-3.8(syst) mu b. From this measurement, we extract the first
measurement of the total central b-hadron cross section at s**(1/2) = 1960
GeV/c2. We find sigma(p anti-p --> b X, |y| < 0.6) = 17.6 +/-
0.4(stat)+2.5_-2.3(syst) mu b where b denotes either b-hadron or
b-bar-hadron states.
