Additional Plots showing the top-quark content of the excess



We study the excess seen in the multijet analysis at jet-triplet mass of 175 GeV/c^2. The plots shown below are, from left to right:

We perform this study for the data sample used in the RPV gluino search, (3.2 fb^-1, multijet trigger), as well as a larger dataset with the following changes:

Note that for the nominal 3.2 fb^-1 plots, the excess consistent with the mass of the top remains after requiring a b-tag in the event. However, statistics for the only-one btag sample are poor. For the 5.9 fb^-1 plots, we see a dijet peak consistent with the mass of the W for triplets consistent with the top. The final set of plots, with harder diagonal cut and jet-pt cuts, is especially clear.
